Are you able to perform termite, property, or roof inspections?
Yes.
Since we are a pest control company as well as a general contractor, we can do all these inspections, and we do them all the time!
Why would I need an inspection?
Banks often require inspections as prerequisites for loans and mortgages. Termite inspections are often required when selling a home, and they expire after only 120 days. Inspections are useful tools in determining the market value of a house or what repair work needs to be done. Periodic inspections are among the least expensive preventative measures available to a homeowner.
Do I need to be home during an inspection?
Either you or someone you trust needs to be present at the time of inspection. The inspector needs to enter the building to perform a thorough inspection and will not do so if no one is present.
I need some reports for my reverse mortgage loan. Can you accomidate me?
YES! We have worked with reverse mortgage borrowers, agents, and lenders for years. We have a good understanding of the reverse mortgage process and are happy to provide inspection and property reports for reverse mortgages.
Do I need to be home during a termite treatment?
Generally, our termite technicians only need to work outside of a home. There are special cases where entering a garage or house is necessary, but we'll be sure to let you know when this is the case.
Are the termite chemicals dangerous? What do you use?
We use Termidor®. Our termite technicians apply Termidor® at a very low concentration (fipronil, the active chemical, is just 0.06% of the solution), making Termidor® one of the safest termite treatments available. It is only applied to areas where termite infestation has been noted, so there's little worry of human contact. For more information, check our Termites page or visit the Termidor ™ webpage by clicking here:
Will my plants and animals be okay? Will I need to remove or replace my food?
Your plants and animals will be fine. Our termite treatments will not find their way into your food. In fact, Termidor® is widely used on pets as a flea treatment, and it is also frequently used on crops to kill farming pests.
Should I wait until after repair work has finished to schedule a termite treatment? No. It doesn't matter whether you have your house treated for termites before or after any repair work.
Will you bid a job for me? How much do you charge for contractor bids?
We are happy to bid any job, and we advertise our ability to do so (please see the following two questions). We charge $25 to bid a job, and this fee is waived if we end up doing the work.
Is any job too big?
Our general contractor & business owner Robert Heflin has built homes from the ground up, and we welcome the challenge of creating a new single family home, but nothing any larger. Most often, our work consists of remodel projects (bathrooms, kitchens, and so on).
Is any job too small?
To stay competetive, we generally refuse jobs smaller than $600. It is usually best to find a local handyman for small, odd jobs around the house. The yellow pages and local newspapers are great places to find local handymen.
How soon can you start?
We are usually able to start a few days after a job has been ordered, but certain times of the year are busier than others. We will always be able to give you a start date when we schedule the work.
How much do you charge for different types of inspections? What about termite treatments? How much would it cost to have you repair this or that?
We offer highly competitive prices. Our price lists change with time, and we often need to check out a job in person before we can give an estimate. Please contact us for our latest prices and estimates at (650) 298-9024.
